Textured Microcapsules through Crystallization

This work demonstrates the fabrication of surface-textured microcapsules formed from emulsion droplets, which are stabilized by an interlocking mesh needle-like crystals. Crystals small-organic-compound decane-1,10-bis(cyclohexyl carbamate) within geometric confinement through precipitation a binary-solvent-dispersed phase. binary mixture consists volatile solvent and nonvolatile carrier oil. Crystallization is facilitated upon supersaturation due to evaporation solvent. Microcapsule diameter can be easily tuned using microfluidics. approach also proves scalable when conventional mixers, yielding spikey with diameters in range 10-50 ?m. It highlighted that capsule shape molded arrested jamming recrystallization confinement. Moreover, it shown these textured show promising enhanced deposition onto fabric fibers.
